Casablanca 2079 Wedding Dress
This is a gorgeous long-sleeve, lace, beaded wedding gown out of Casablanca’s Fall 2012 Graceful Whispers collection. It features a V-neck, keyhole back, and A-line shape. It is designed very elegant and classy. It is heavily beaded (see pictures…it weighs approx. 8 lbs). This dress looks like ROYALTY!
I obtained this dress from a warehouse “second-hand” after a store closed. To my knowledge it was used as a sample, and the condition of the dress verifies this. The Casablanca tag is still attached inside. There are a couple tiny flaws that I have outlined below. I had a professional seamstress inspect it and she thought that it was brand new until she finally spotted a small flaw (which is described below). She said it appears to be un-altered. (ALSO, UNDER DRESS DETAILS, I HAVE STATED PURCHASE DATE 2017, AS THAT IS THE YEAR I PURCHASED IT. I DON’T HAVE THE ORIGINAL YEAR OF PURCHASE.)
A note on the color: I wanted to note, according to the manufacturer, this is a IIS (Ivory, Ivory, Silver). However, it is a “whiter” ivory than some I’ve seen. It isn’t bright white, but maybe all the beading makes it appear a little lighter or brighter than some other ivory gowns.
--Flaw 1: This tiny flaw goes unseen that I missed it upon initial inspection, as well as the professional whom I had inspect the dress. It is two small, very faint dust marks on the inside satin layer at the hem. It is not visible AT ALL from the outside (as a lace layers over this layer and the two marks aren’t dark enough to see through). I only noticed it when doing a final, third inspection and taking the product pictures. I’VE TRIED TO GET THIS IN ONE OF THE PICTURES, BUT IT IS SO FAINT ITS VERY HARD TO SEE, BUT PLEASE VIEW ALL PICTURES AND LOOK AT THE ONE SHOWING THE INSIDE OF HEM CLOSE-UP.
--Flaw 2: The inside of the corset, boning area is nearly spotless which makes me believe this dress hasn’t been tried on much at all. The only spot is one about an inch long in the middle of the inside of corset/top area. As with the previous flaw, it is completely unseen from the outside of dress. This top portion of dress is thicker material/layers and the “spot” looks like something such as lipstick or such grazed the surface of the inner layer. THIS IS VISIBLE IN ONE OF THE PICTURES SO PLEASE VIEW.
--Flaw 3: I was even hesitant to mention this as a “flaw”, but some of the beading MIGHT be a bit “looser” than its original form. Its possible that this could be due to previous handling or shipping, but the professional that inspected it doesn’t believe so as she thinks it is just how it is beaded. With a dress this heavily beaded on top of delicate lace, the beads aren’t going to be as “tight” as they would on a sturdier fabric. I honestly think this is most likely how the dress is made. None of the beading looks to be missing or undone in any way. However, I can’t guarantee that as a sample dress a tiny bead hasn’t gone astray. Upon inspection it looks to be in excellent shape with the rest of the dress’ features. Just wanted to provide as much information as necessary. I’VE PROVIDED SOME UP-CLOSE PICTURES OF THE GORGEOUS BEADWORK!
A little about the seller:
I know I would be very cautious about buying a wedding gown online (as I am with any purchase), so I wanted to let you know a little about me, the seller. My name is Liz. I am a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom who is trying to start up a small business. Weddings are my passion as well as saving money, and one day I would love to own a pre-owned wedding store. Until then, I’m looking for “gems” to resell such as this dress to fund a little extra money for my household, as well as build towards my dreams. I am more than happy to help in any way I can with questions concerning the product, and will ALWAYS provide an honest answer. I don’t want any sell. I want a sell to a happy customer! Good luck in your search for your dream dress! J (And my home is 100% smoke-free!)
