Vera Wang Leda Wedding Dress
This dress was worn once on 9-17-16. It is in excellent condition with no stains or tears. The back of this dress is different than the Leda back that you see in other dresses on the site (please review that). They now give the option to do without the ruffles in the back which I preferred. I also ordered a custom belt that is silk and thicker however I have the belt that they recommend pairing as well. Both would be included. Recipet for all can be provided.
Here is the Vera Wang description:
Strapless mermaid floating lace gown over web lace
In Leda, every element comes together to express an Old World sense of refinement and beauty. From its creamy French vanilla color to its intricate, delicate, all-over tulip and rose lace, Leda has an unmistakable heirloom quality.
As with all my dresses this season, the heart and soul of the gown is the lace. With Leda, I wanted to give the dress a very three-dimensional, textural look. I achieved this effect with a overlay of tulip and rose lace on top of web lace, which almost looks like a netting. The web network is actually quite intricate, like a burst of foamy bubbles layered on top of one another. It’s airy and light, so it’s the ideal backdrop for the bold, floral lace.
Throughout Leda, there are soft, curvy lines. A wispy tulle modesty piece on the bodice gives the illusion of something floating on the skin, while the gradual flair of the mermaid skirt curves and hugs the body into a classic hourglass shape. I love this type of modified mermaid silhouette, because there’s still that gorgeous structure on top, but with all the romanticism of a full skirt.
The skirt is where the dress really comes to life, with a voluminous cage construction. Horsehair bands at the bottom of the skirt frame the outer shell of this cage like halos, allowing the fabric to bounce and trap the air and light, making the tulip and rose lace nearly luminescent. And then in the back, there’s this incredible piece of embroidery that sits on top of the cage – layers upon layers of bias-cut, tiered pieces of horsehair and tulle. It creates this embroidery that has a scalloped, tiered cascade effect. Leda is an incredible fusion of texture, volume, and movement.
The dress was shortened by an inch and tightened a few inches through the bust and hips. I also put a slightly bigger dip in the neckline and had them put a very slight V in the back (versus straight across).
-Belt from Bouquet -Belt from Leda I have a Vera Wang Veil and shawl that can also be negotiated.
