Hello! This is a beautiful dress. Watters 4041B Torreon description reads:
"Ivory re-embroidered lace and eggshell duchess silk satin gown. A-line skirt with satin and lace flower beaded appliqués and chapel train."
I purchased this gown in September 2015 for my Nov. 1, 2015 wedding. It was new when I purchased it. It was bought online from a bridal shop that went out of business, where it was a floor sample.
I am 5'5", 108 pounds and I wear a 00 or 0 in street clothes. I wore this gown with 3.5" satin pumps and the length was perfect. I did not need to have the length altered at all; it came as a stock size 2 and fit me almost perfectly as-is.
I had a seamstress take in the sides of the gown to fit my waist and I also had her take it in below my hips to accentuate curves and give it more of a fit-and-flare versus the A-line as it came. I had no padding added to the bust; I wore a strapless bra (I am a 34C) and it fit wonderfully.
My mom and I removed some of the flower appliques and made am elastic strap. We sewed in eye hooks so that I could attach the strap at the reception and dance the night away! I also wore a catherdral length, plain ivory 2-tier veil which I will include if you are interested.
I wore the gown for part of the reception and then changed into a more casual dress. There are no stains on the gown and I did not have the dress dry cleaned. There is minimal dirt on the hem of the gown since the ceremony was outside on the grass. I spray and treated the gown so that it would repel any liquids or stains, just in case. It worked perfectly because there are no stains anywhere. The only damage incurred when wearing the gown was that my heel got caught in the very very underneath liner and ripped a tear. This gown has three layers to it: double-lace, satin, and then a liner with krenelin. My heel caught in the liner which you could never ever see unless you took the gown off and flipped it inside out. The site would only let me post 6 photos and I have so many more to share! The dress will come shipped in its original WATTERS garment bag and original Watters shipping box.
I can have the dress cleaned for you, if you like. It will cost $180-200 per the cleaners. I personally don't think its needed. I would be happy to FaceTime or Skype or text as many images and photos as you like so that you have a comfort level of what you are buying. Four months ago I was in your shoes!
Our venue was a plantation in Charleston, South Carolina and this gown was so fitting for the surroundings.
