Vera Wang's Ethel was the first dress I tried on at the Vera Wang Bridal Boutique in Chicago and it was the perfect fit for the clean, modern & striking silhouette I was looking for!
The Mikado silk (exclusive to Vera Wang) shines and looks spectacular in photographs. The slight stretch in Mikado silk makes for a curve hugging, super flattering fit with a surprising amount of comfort and ease as you move around, pose, sit, and dance on your special day.
The bodice is a stunning textural contrast against the sheen of the Mikado silk. Layers of hand-cut organza tissue are elegantly draped to form the mermaid bottom that moves as you walk, creating that feeling of romance and glamour you want on your wedding day. I left the bodice down and long for my ceremony, but bustled it up for the reception and dance floor!
The gown condition is very good, especially since it's been professionally cleaned. The expected wear for a once-worn gown is minimal and on the bottom/underneath the layers of the organza and satin liner that cannot be seen when the dress is on. My ceremony was inside a church and the reception was inside a hotel ballroom. I wore the dress outdoors for about an hour of pre-reception photos, but my maid of honor helped carry and adjust my bodice/bustle to avoid touching the ground as much as possible.
I hope whoever wears it next loves it and feels as glamourous as I did on my wedding day!
