Never been worn, romantic, sexy, feminine and hard to find Elizabeth Fillmore, Roma gown. Fully lined ivory silk charmeuse feels like you're wearing a soft negligee. Wonderfully designed, this gown shows Elizabeth Fillmore's beginnings as a lingerie designer as it emphasizes the female hourglass silhouette in a luxurious fabric.
The details of this dress are what made me fall in love with it. The delicate embroidered flower appliques that make the straps and define the waistline are sweet and romantic. Each flower center has subtle silver thread stitching which catches the light. The low cut back of the dress is sexy and the smartly placed single flower at a gently gathered point just below the bum further enhances the feminine silhouette where a gorgeous bustle can be created with your tailor. The dress trumpets out into a romantic rounded train about 1.5 feet long.
I found the gentle cowl scoop neckline to be a great choice for enhancing a smaller bust line. My bust measurements are: full B cup, under bust 29 inches, on bust 33.5 inches.
No alterations have been made on this dress as I ended up never wearing it. I bought it as a designer sample gown from Glamour Closet in Los Angeles.
The dress size is a 6, but my body type is more of a 4 at my bust and waist and 6+ at my hips and butt. (My measurements: Height: 5' 6.5", Waist: 27", Hip on biggest part of butt: 38.5")
As is, this dress slips on easily and feels so light and comfortable. I believe it could fit a street size 4 or 6 very well.
This dress is quite long in it's original sample runway length so it can work for someone very tall or be hemmed to any length. Just to give you an idea: I am 5 foot 6 1/2 inches standing barefoot and if I were to wear it with 2.5" heels, I would have wanted about 4 inches hemmed. The length of the dress from shoulder to bottom of the hem is 70 1/2 inches (or 5 feet 10 1/2" inches or 179.07cm)
This dress is very clean and could be worn as is with a nice steaming before showtime.
For full-disclosure- It should be noted that there is a very teeny area where the fabric is very slightly "rubbed" - (see photo next to a bobby pin for size reference, it's so small it's hard to even photograph. It is smaller than the eraser head on a pencil) I honestly think it could be left as-is and no one would ever notice it because it is so minor. I was also told by Glamour Closet that a professional wedding dress dry cleaner or tailor could easily fix it. But I just want to offer full disclosure since this is your potential wedding dress:)
It feels amazing on. It has a couture feel to it with lots of hand finishing. It's really a stunning dress.
Hope you fall in love with it like I initially did and wear it looking gorgeous at a romantic wedding:) ( I ended up wearing a different dress when my budget and venue changed quite a bit, but I still had a wonderful wedding and am happy to married to a lovely man )
And please don't hesitate to ask for any more details or photos than I can post here, I will gladly email them to you.
If you live near Portland Oregon maybe we can arrange an in person try-on too.
Thank You and Best of Luck!
