Stephanie + Alex | Monique Lhuillier Real Wedding From Samantha Kirk Photography

This pretty garden wedding will delight you.  Everything is just so romantic, delicate and perfect.  Stephanie’s Monique Lhuillier Chantal gown was just gorgeous. We love the classic lines, the beautiful re-embroidered lace bodice and airy, ethereal vibe of this once in a lifetime dress.

The Ceremony
The ceremony took place at Beaulieu Garden. Alex grew up Catholic and I grew up Jewish so our ceremony was a blend of the two traditions. In place of the Jewish custom of “Seven Blessings” we did “Seven Interfaith Readings”, each one read by someone who is special to us.

The Reception
The reception was also at Beaulieu Garden. The dinner took place under stunning arbor lit up with market lights. The food was inspired by local California cuisine.

I tried on around 30 dresses. I have always loved Monique Lhuillier and I thought I had decided on the Severine dress. When I went to buy it, I decided to try on the Chantal and immediately knew it was the one. I loved the lace and the softness of the tulle — one of Monique’s specialties. It just felt right!

Why She’s Selling Her Wedding Dress
Someone else should get to wear it! I am (obviously) never planning to wear it again and it shouldn’t go to waste in my closet.

Everything about this pretty outdoor wedding will make you smile.  The beautiful barn venue, the amazing florals and especially Andrea’s gorgeous Monique Lhuillier gown. It’s romantic Chantilly lace and stunning tulle mermaid skirt make it the absolutely perfect gown for her big day.

Andrea + Kyle | June 30, 2017 | Indianapolis, Indiana

The Ceremony
I have always wanted to get married outside and The Barn at Bay Horse Inn had the most beautiful outdoor venue. The ceremony was set up facing the woods with a beautiful wooden pergola that my florist draped with greenery and flowers. It looked straight out of a movie! The barn provided a donkey named Tony that wore a fancy sack filled with our wedding programs. Such a fun little touch that guests loved! The best part about the ceremony was that the rain held off until it was time to go inside and party! My photographer snapped some breathtaking pictures as the clouds were rolling in.

The Reception
The ceremony and reception were held at the same venue which made it easy for guests. We held a cocktail hour outside while my good friend, a violinist, played music. The reception started soon after with guests being greeted by beautiful wooden chairs and tables draped in greenery, white and light pink floral arraignments. Candles, mercury glass and my own homemade moss numbers were delicately placed on tables as well. It was a plated dinner and an open bar. I loved that the bar was separate from the main room and inside that room we set up a dessert table with local Indianapolis donuts (homage to Kyle) and local Lansing, Michigan popcorn (homage to me) and they also happen to be two of our favorite treats!

I tried on too many dresses to count probably over 100. I know what I like and I am very picky! I traveled to over 5 states just to visit bridal boutiques. I gravitated towards the mermaid style while my mom and 3 sisters preferred a ball gown style, but I just felt like I got lost in a ball gown style it was too big for my frame. Once I tried on the Monique Lhuillier gown we all fell in love. It was the perfect amount of elegant and sexy. The lace was delicate and the sweetheart neckline with a draped back was unique. It was comfortable and easy to move in. Plain and simple I felt beautiful. I also hand designed a wedding belt to add a little sparkle to my look. It was truly the perfect compliment to my dress.

Why She’s Selling Her Wedding Dress
I absolutely love my dress and I want someone else to feel just as beautiful wearing it as I did on my wedding day. I would rather see another bride rock that stunner than keep it in my closet for the rest of my life. I know that whomever buys it will not be disappointed. I have offered to include my custom belt which truly makes the dress one of a kind. Monique Lhuillier is such a timeless designer and I know that this dress will make another bride to be look loved, stunning and radiant on her special day!

Alicia + Chris | Monique Lhuillier Real Wedding From Josh Behan Photography

Alicia + Chris | October 9, 2016 | Newport, Rhode Island

Newport’s beautiful Castle Hill Inn was the backdrop for Alicia and Chris’ intimate affair.  An evening garden party, the event was effortlessly elegant and full of beautiful and personal touches.  We adore Alicia’s Monique Lhuillier Fairy dress. The sleeveless illusion embroidered bodice sheath gown with flowing chiffon skirt is perfectly magical.  And its sophistication and gracefulness was so perfectly suited to this beautiful wedding.

I probably tried on a dozen dresses, and each one I felt weighed down in. I wanted something that made me feel like I was floating. I went to a Monique Lhuillier trunk show in San Francisco and loved the feminine look of all the dresses. I tried on three, and a Monique Lhuillier designer was present, saw what I picked and recommended I try on the dress I ended up getting. As soon as I put it on I felt like a princess and never wanted to take it off. The dress is truly magical.

Laura + Samuel | Monique Lhuillier Real Wedding From Samantha Meister Photography

The location for this wedding is simply spectacular.  It’s so innately beautiful that it almost doesn’t even need decoration. But Laura and Samuel added simple and elegant decor that fit the space – and the couple – perfectly.  You’ll smile looking at this pretty wedding, and just might considering moving your location to Cincinnati to host at this venue.

The Ceremony
We chose an abandoned church for our ceremony and reception on top of a hill in a historic area of Cincinnati.  Romance, intimacy, old world charm were the ideas we had in mind.  We tapped our friend John, a bleeding heart with acting experience, to officiate the ceremony for us. We also had our mothers give readings since they were not giving speeches. When we finally got to the part where we read our self-written vows (that had not previously been shared with each other) there was not a dry eye left in the room.

The Reception
We wanted our reception to be a raging party, so after the fancy dinner and speeches we turned off the lights and blasted dance music for the rest of the night. It was epic!

I’m a minimalist but I don’t have the body that can support some of the streamlined, thin fabric, body-con gowns out there.. So, I probably tried on 50 dresses looking for a style that worked. When I finally found this gown at Glamour Closet in LA I knew it was the one- it fit so well to start and required minimal modifications. It hugged my body in the right ways and has understated character in the skirt. Plus, I love dancing, and this one moved so beautifully.

Why She’s Selling Her Wedding Dress
It was my tailor, actually- she said (in her beautiful Parisian accent): “Your daughter will not want this dress when fashion changes in 20+ years. Sell it. Let someone else enjoy it’s beauty now. Buy a work of art with the proceeds.  Give the work of art to your daughter instead.”
