Meet Josie

In 2004, Josie Daga founded PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com after searching unsuccessfully for a way to sell her own designer wedding dress. After multiple attempts to sell her gown via existing traditional and online resources, she announced to her husband that she was going to create her own – and better way - to buy and sell preowned gowns.

While pregnant with her first child, and working full time at an advertising agency, Josie built the original website herself, incorporating all the features that she knew buyers and sellers wanted, but didn't exist on other sites.

Josie says that growing up in Charleston, South Carolina she was “a sucker” for weddings. In fact, many of her friends from University of Richmond expected her to have a career in either advertising or the wedding industry. She admits to tearing up when she watches a wedding on TV – even when she doesn’t know the couple. She has personally attended more than 100 weddings, been a bridesmaid 14 times, and given too many wedding speeches to count. She lives in Toronto with her husband and two children.
