I have a gorgeous lace dress named "Anjelica" (Look 5 from www.reemacra.com/bridal/spring-2017/ ) from Reem Acra's Spring 2017 collection. Beautiful gown in like-new condition.
About this dress:
I've tried on 100+ dresses throughout my dress search and this dress really was the best. The design, the sillouette, the material, the fit, the feel, it was all impeccable, classic, elegant and tasteful. The sillouette is fit-and-flare, which is essentially in-between Trumpet and Mermaid without the undesirable horizontal divide. It really accentuates the natural curve. There is boning and molded cups that structure the strapless bodice, so there is no need for extra undergarment for this dress. The lace is delicate and is finished with a light dusting of glossy beads around the waist area. (I usually hate anything that sparkles, but the beading on this dress was an exception. The beads on the waist line are really tiny and sparse, so they add delicate depth to the overall dress instead of distracting or taking away.) What I loved most about this dress was the sand-tone silk lining. The picture doesn't do it justice, but the contrast created by the sand-tone silk lining helps the lace to stand out. The train is not dreadfully long either, but it is there as pictured, which I think is just the right amount. The train ends beautifully in a scalloped eyelash hem, which adds drama to the back of the dress.
Alteration:
I bought this gown at a high-end boutique in Boston, and alteration has been made at the boutique to fit my measurement, which is 34.5" bust, 26.5" waist and 37" hip. The gown has also been hemmed so the new height with shoes is 5'11". This gown also has sewed in tiny delicate pearls for bustling. I took a really special care of this gown and it's been professionally dry cleaned and has no signs of wear. So it is practically new with added the bells and whistles! :)
Please note that the alteration alone was an additional +$1,500 because I decided to do it with the boutique that was high-end but they really knew what they were doing. They did everything so impeccably and it will be easy to take it in even further or take out as needed.
Also, one thing to note about the size, I am actually a street size 2 or small (and size 27 in pants), but the boutique thought that my hip measurement is wider (36.5") and that I should get a size 6 and then alter down when the dress arrives. Reem Acra's bridal size is apprentely much smaller than other bridal brands.
Added bous:
If you're interested, I will include for free a custom-made fingertip-length veil with matching lace, which alone was $500. I also have a custom-made bolero, which was $400, that I could throw in to make the deal even sweeter. This piece really added even more depth to the dress.
I hope to find a bride who will shine in this gorgeous dress. And lucky you, you won't have to wait for five long months for the dress to be finished unlike I have!
