Vera Wang dress. Certain elements resemble both the iconic Lillian and Gemma styles.
This gown brought together two things I wanted on my wedding day. I wanted to look sexy and unbelievably glamorous. A well-sculpted shape accentuates the figure and the full dramatic skirt with slight train is show stopping.
This mermaid shaped gown has a sweetheart neckline and delicate silk spaghetti straps. Bands of tulle wrap around the body like a swirling cyclone and end where the skirt flares out at the knee.
The skirt flares right at the knee and is an explosion of textures made all the more dramatic by the extreme contrast of the molded shape on top. The textures in the skirt include delicate tulle knots mixed with bold bursting blossoms of varying sizes and silks fabrics. So where the dress flares out towards the base, there are these big, round, three-dimensional petals made from hand-rolled pieces of organza. The flowers toward the top of the skirt are very small, and then they get bigger and more explosive as you get towards the bottom. Barely grazing the floor, they just float at the hem, sprouting quite organically, with no set pattern.
Beautiful, delicate and sheer tulle veils these details, giving the dress so much movement, lightness and a kind of transparency. The light hits all those different textures, and plays against them. At base of the dress, a horsehair ribbon (not visible) provides a soft structure
This gown is gently used. I only wore it for the ceremony and photos and then changed for reception. There are no marks on outside of dress, but a few on inside lining from walking around. The dress has been dry cleaned
I am 5’5, a 34B bra size and 124 pounds. I wore 4 inch heels at the wedding.
