This timeless, beautifully understated and hard-to-find Melissa Sweet Tess wedding gown is a silk shantung strapless column. Stunning in its simplicity, it creates a gorgeous silhouette through every detail. The perfect gown for a petite bride, the construction of the bodice is incredibly flattering, enhancing a smaller bust and creating the illusion of a tiny waist. This gown was custom-ordered from Melissa Sweet’s showroom through Priscilla of Boston in Wynnewood, PA to be constructed without the back bow detail and fishtail train as shown on the runway – for a petite frame, less is always more. (In case the buyer wishes to have the bow added, it will be shipped along with the gown.) Additional alterations performed on-site at Priscilla of Boston by their in-house seamstress include: bra cups (size A-B) added to bust so that no bra is needed (very easily removed if the buyer wishes); length altered to fit 5'6"; height (with 2” heel); three-point bustle added. The gown has a beautiful chapel train. This gown, worn only once for my October 2007 wedding, was both beautiful and extremely comfortable to wear. It moves with ease and photographs beautifully. I received so many compliments on the gown and felt truly stunning on my wedding day. Following the wedding, the gown was cleaned by a professional fine dry cleaner who specializes in the cleaning and preservation of silk wedding gowns and was carefully re-packaged in its original garment bag, where it has remained untouched since. It has been kept in a cool, dry closet in a pet-free and smoke-free home. It is in perfect condition with zero signs of wear.
