This is a beautiful dress by the Fabulous Monique Lhuillier. It is strapless, fits close over the hips and flares out in a dramatic mermaid silhouette. The gown is especially flattering on a full figure. I have a large bust and the straight across line of the strapless top was minimizing and looked appropriately modest. It is a size 14, but can be altered down to an 8 or up to a 16. The dress is a beautiful ivory color and is silk satin with a light sheen on the fabric. It has been worn once and professionally cleaned twice. I had it cleaned right after the wedding, and when I decided to sell it, I had it cleaned again to smooth wrinkles and stored in an airtight box. The authentic Monique Lhuillier tag is sewn into the dress at the back. There are no snags or blemishes on the fabric. There were several tiny and very faint dotlike marks at the hem, but they are no longer visible after the second cleaning unless you know they were there and look carefully for them. There is a row of fabric covered buttons down the back which cover a zipper closure, and two loops were added to create a bustle to hold up some of the fullness of the bottom of the dress during the reception. There is also delicate boning in the bodice so that it gives the dress the graceful structure. I did not have to pull it up and fuss with it all night (like I did with prom dresses in the past!) The dress was purchased at Wearkkstat in New York City, and has been kept safely in a pet and smoke free home. It's an absolutely beautiful gown that I loved wearing, but there's no sense letting it sit in a box forever, so it's time for it to go to a new loving home!
