This is a gorgeous (I know I'm biased, but it really is) couture dress from the Lara Helene store in New York City. Though its a sample, it was made for a photo shoot and never worn, and it looks and feels brand new. I fell in love with it when I tried it on and bought it the next day because I didn’t want to lose it. I ended up not wearing it for my wedding, both because the feeling of the wedding changed, and also because a designer friend later offered to make me a dress. (My mother still talks about this dress and wishes I'd worn it, and part of me does too though I loved the dress I did wear.)

The dress is made of an extremely soft silk chiffon. The fabric is very light and soft and romantic feeling. It has a built in adjustable corset, which is very secure (you won't fall out) and can probably adjust anywhere from a 32-36. There is a white/cream velvet ribbon that goes around the empire waist, and the chiffon below parts in a goddess-style draping. There is a thin crinolin underneath, which creates a beautiful line but could be removed if you prefer. It drapes beautifully in the back (one of my many favorite things about it). There is a small train which you could keep or hem. The dress has not been altered in any way -- it needs to be steamed but otherwise is just as purchased.

I’m attaching several photos; the one from the Lara Helene website has a black ribbon, but the ribbon on the dress is white/cream. I bought the dress for $2400 and it is originally valued at $4500. I am willing to negotiate somewhat.
