Dress Description:

I am blessed to have a dear friend who is an exceedingly talented designer and seamstress, so when she offered to make me a custom gown, I went for it. Since she is a costumer for the film and television industry, she really understood the tight deadline we were under. She also had access to the best fabric houses and materials at her discount and had a great team of assistants.

She only charged me $4K for labor and materials, which had I gone to any other dressmaker, I'd have been charged more than double. I love stripes and clean lines, yet wanted to feel feminine, sexy, modern and classic all at once. This dress absolutely represents all of those qualities in its design. Basically, it works if you are a Martha Stewart bride or a Dwell Magazine bride!

A few other notes: I am 5'9" and I wore 2" heels. I am a Size 6. I wear a 34D or 36C bra size and the dress was made to fit that range. My natural waist (and the dress hits there) is 26-27" and there was room for undergarments/petticoat. I have about 35" hips, but the a-line fits away from the hips so it was not an issue. Dress is impeccably constructed using highest quality fabric and materials. It is substantial in its detailed craftsmanship. In excellent condition. Silk organza is main fabric. Silk grosgrain ribbon of varying widths is used for details. Veil is classic elbow length with blusher. Train is same tulle and attaches to veil at comb (to be placed in hair.) Both are trimmed in 1/4" grosgrain ribbon to match ribbon details on dress. Petticoat is included, but could be not used if less volume is desired. Also has a baby-blue tulle detail for "Something Blue" (see twirl photo.) Could be removed. Dress bustles up for dancing.
