Dress Description:

Spring 2007 wedding gown, by Amsale Blue Label Fabric is Windsor Duchess Satin with silver embellishments on back and front of form fitting bodice and include silver and clear beadwork, and silver and ivory embroidery. The strapless neckline is level across the bust; plunges deeply in the back (top of back falls just below where a normal bra closure would fall); natural waist. The skirt is a full a-line skirt, and unembellished. The front waistline has no pleats; back of the dress is gathered (not pleated) at the rear waistline. The skirt is double layered; underlayer forms circular chapel-length train; overlayer forms a split train. Overlayer is slightly raised in the front hem.

I had one layer of crinoline removed from the petticoat (to slightly reduce the fullness) and secured it behind the knee with an heirloom diamond broach.

Alterations include: taking the bodice in, hemming the skirt, and removing one layer of crinoline. All alterations were done by the Kleinfeld staff. The gown bustle has been added already. I chose to French-bustle the underlayer of the train and an over-bustle for the overlayer. The train is attached at the waistline with satin fabric-covered buttons. Photos of the bustled train are available upon request. The gown may be bustled differently. The gown shows no evidence of wear, damage, or stains and is in excellent condition.

I purchased this gown at Kleinfelds Bridal in Manhattan and have all original receipts. Amsale’s Blue Label Collection describes gowns that are “more complex in their construction, requiring more work and higher utilization of fabric.” They feature “finer fabrics, laces and trims, and more intricate beadwork.
