Description: The "Melissa" was “My Dress!” That’s what I told the sales rep at Kleinfeld’s in New York City as soon as I came through the door. After coming across the editorial photo in almost every bridal magazine the summer of 2007, I knew it was not only the "IT" dress, but "THE" dress for me… regardless of cost. Dreams do come true! I cut corners in other areas, but did not shortchange myself when it came to the dress. It is, of course, my day. As it should be YOURS too! Upon viewing other designs by Monique Lhuillier, I decided to add on a few embellishments, which can easily be removed by any seamstress. These include four (4) fabric covered buttons that march down the bodice, from the end of the V-shaped neckline to the belt. The dress also has three (3) buttons about two feet and four inches (2ft, 4in) from the hem in the back which allow for some bustling once hooked to the loops. This is optional and the buttons can go undetected if you opt not to use or remove them. The back bustling and collared neck give this dress a regal feel, while the deep V-neckline and transparent back offer the modern sensuality and style desired for any formal event. The dress is extremely light in weight and forgiving when it comes to walking or dancing – no need to worry about things remaining in place. Measurements: As far as sizing – I am 5’3 but selected heels that added another 4 inches. I'm a street size 0 or 2 on top, and vary from 0-4 on bottom. Chest = 32” / High Waist (by belly button) = 27” / Low Waist (hip bone) = 33” Hips = 39” Noteworthy Details: I wore a convertible bra with this dress and tucked the strap in the same area as the belt. It went unnoticed and gave some extra support. You can also substitute a bra with cups, gels, or simply go braless.
