Dress Description:

I bought this dress as it was the most elegant, beautiful wedding dress I found. This dress retails between $7,000 and $8,000. Although I found it for much lower, I'm hoping to make up some of the cost of having two wedding dresses. The dress has three layers; the inner two layers are a very light chiffon lining (not visible to others, just a lining), with a layer of silk over it which you can see through the lace. The outer layer is a very fine chantilly lace dripping with the most amazing pearl and beadwork I have ever seen. If you have spent some time trying on wedding dresses, you know that there is a tremendous difference between inexpensive beading and truly beautiful detailed beadwork. The only alterations I had done to the dress were to take up the length in the front (the scalloped lace edge was maintained), and to take the straps up minimally. As you can see from the pictures, I wore the dress without the two tiny bows in the front, but I will include those with the dress as you can easily have those reattached if you choose. The chiffon and silk layers are actually just as long as the lace layer in the back of the dress as well. I wanted to show off the lace without the layers underneath, so I had the bottom layers bustled underneath (not cut). I wore this dress for approximately 1.5 hours as I only wore it for the wedding ceremony in a carpeted church, and carriage ride to the reception. I did not have the dress cleaned as some alteration stores require you to have the dress cleaned if they alter it. There is only minor dirt on the bottom of the hem of the silk layer, since it was not worn during the reception. I’m happy to answer any questions, provide additional pictures, or send pictures of my reception dress at your request, to show that a second dress was worn for most of the day (for pictures prior) and evening (dinner and dancing).
