Dress Description:
This is a gorgeous new Spring 2008 Anne Barge Couture #488 Ivory dress that I purchased from the famed Kleinfeld boutique in New York City. The original price for the dress was $6.4K, but I bought it during a trunk show & got it slightly discounted for $5919.00 - this dress was purchased as my back-up dress for my June 2008 wedding and was never worn. I only wore it during fittings, and not for my actual wedding. We had a very formal wedding & I decided to wear my other Vera Wang dress at the last minute! This dress has a very elegant silhouette, and is made from silk shantung mikado, which gives it the gorgeous sheen that you see in the photos. The dress has wide Alencon lace detailing at the top and also at the hem. The neckline is strapless scoop, and it has a chapel length train. There is a double grosgrain ribbon sash that criss-crosses underneath the bust, then goes around to the back of the dress where it ties in a bow (right now the ribbons are the same length as the train, but can be trimmed shorter if you want). There is some slight cleaning needed along the underside/hem of the dress & at the ends of the ribbon (from wearing it around during my fittings) but I did not get the dress cleaned because I figured that whoever buys it will probably need additional fittings also, and will instead want to get it cleaned right before her wedding. This is a great opportunity to buy a couture dress at a fraction of the cost. Any questions please ask!
