Dress Description:

I was told by every Justina McCaffrey-carrying boutique that I visited that Magnificat is by far the most sought-after of all her gowns. I bought this Magnificat at a Justina McCaffrey-authorized bridal boutique in Pennsylvania. It has been worn only one day for my July 2006 wedding in Boston. Magnificat has been on numerous bridal magazine covers. Even my florist used my picture in her full-page ad in 2007 Grace Ormond's Wedding Style magazine! This dress was professionally cleaned by a specialist and it looks brand new. There are no stains on the dress and is preserved in a pet-free, smoke-free, mothball-free home. Magnificat is made entirely of duchess satin silk (the most expensive and soft of silks). On her web site, they put a very big petticoat underneath so it poofs out. For my dress, I opted for the petticoat that ships with the dress so the skirt wouldn’t be as poofy. If you want a poofier skirt, just add some more petticoat layers underneath (very easy to do). There were very few alteration so it's very close to the way it was bought. It is a Justina McCaffrey size 10 (regular 8) and was altered to a street size 6. I lost weight before the wedding, but thankfully the bust and length were fine so they were not touched, and only the bodice was taken in to fit the waist. My tailor made the bustle without a single stitch to the outside duchess silk part of the skirt...she put the loops *inside* the skirt. Pristine! The loops she put on the inside are all color-coded so you can just match them up.
