DRESS DETAILS

This is a classic, timeless dress.  It is a bias-cut silk organza gown with layers and layers of slightly unfinished edges. The dress is strapless with a slight sweetheart neckline. I had it altered for a slightly deeper neckline in order to make it more of a sweetheart (Please note it is not a true sweetheart with a defined heart shape).  The dress fastens with a zipper, which is also lined with 35 silk buttons (all must be buttoned).  Inside the dress is a band that holds the dress up on you as well (it feels comfortable and secure). The gown has a Chapel length train and bustles under the dress.  From my experience in trying on dresses, this dress is lighter (in weight) than most wedding gowns and very comfortable to wear.  The subtle ivory color is soft and beautiful in photos.

 

DRESS ALTERATIONS
In addition to the deeper neckline, the label size 8 has been altered to fit a street size 2-4 (Bust: 32-33, Waist: 26-27, Hip: 34-34.5). Bra cups have been sown in and can be removed. My seamstress made an under bustle, which beautifully tucks the train under the dress making it appear as if there is no train once bustled, which keeps the asymmetrical lines in the back in tact. Colored ribbons are attached to each hook making it easy to identify where each hook needs to be placed. I preferred this type of bustle because it made the dress look clean in the back, however, there are some stains on the middle part of the back, when the train is fully out. The stains were formed at the edge of where the bustle tucks under because of this type of bustle. There are some small stains on the front of the bottom of the dress as well.  
VEIL / HEADPIECE DESCRIPTION
I will throw in a finger tip ivory veil with the purchase of the dress. Some of the comb pieces in the the middle of the comb are missing. 
PRESERVATION METHOD
The dress has been spot cleaned and is in a smoke- and pet-free home.
