Vera Wang's Esther. Inspired by Grace Kelly, designed for Ivanka Trump and more recently seen on Gossip Girl. This is the strapless version.
I wore this at my October wedding and hope to see it go to someone who will love it as much as I did. Three layers of stunning chantilly lace that are classic but so ethereal. People told me that I floated down the aisle, that I looked like a princess and that this was the prettiest dress they had ever seen. Comes with the original horsehair sash. Contemporary, but still a style that you will never regret wearing when you look at your pictures in 40 years. A masterpiece.
- DRESS ALTERATIONS
- I had the skirt taken in so that it is more form-fitting through the hips; not a severe fit-and-flare, but I was swimming underneath the fabric at first and felt this was more flattering without compromising the romance of the original design. A 13-point French bustle was also added. (There are sleeves in some of the pictures because I had an overlay made and basted on so that I could snip it off for the reception. However, the dress is strapless). The dress is in great condition. There were a couple of tears in the inner layers of lace from my high heels. They were restored by the seamstresses at J. Scheer with ultra thin thread and are not noticeable, but I wanted to mention them in the interest of full disclosure.
