I felt incredible in this dress! The Sottero quality is unquestionable and the style is absolutely gorgeous. The unique, exquisite silver lace overlay with sequins and pearly beads just makes any bride stunning. The lace is lovely and I received compliments in it by practically everyone that saw me in it, from other shoppers in the store, to other customers at the alteration shop to the day of my wedding. I can't recommend it enough and I love that it wasn't just another white dress but had some distinction.
I didn't want to go completely strapless so I added some small cap sleeves but the sleeves are easily removed. They are only attached by a hook and eye closure, not sewn into the dress.
Another feature of this dress is the corset. I put my own measurements in this listing, but this dress because of the corset, could fit a broad range of sizes--anyone from a size 0 to a size 6 or 8 is my guess.
The dress originally comes with an empire ribbon and broach feature which I didn't like and didn’t even leave the store with. (I wasn't thinking at the time I might resell the dress, so this dress is missing those features.)
My wedding was in an outdoor courtyard and I did wear the dress to my reception (which was indoor) so the bottom of the dress is slightly stained from wear but it is mostly underneath and will only be known by the owner. I can provide photos of the stains upon request. This dress has been professionally dry-cleaned.
Finally, this Sottero style has been discontinued and is now selling for half of the original price, around $605, that's why the price of my dress is at such a discount--it's definitely not a reflection of the condition or quality. I'm asking $400 but will also consider other offers. I'm just sure you'll fall in love with this dress when you see it on you, but to make you feel more secure about buying without trying it on, I am using escrow.com for payment that allows the buyer an inspection period before the transaction is final. - DRESS ALTERATIONS
- I made 3 alterations through a professional tailor: 1) I had it hemmed. I am 5'4" and I wore 2 1/2" heels. So the dress height is between 5'6" and 5'7". 2) I had small cap sleeves made of tulle added. They are attached with hook and eye closures and easily removed if you prefer strapless. 3)I had a bustle added to pull up the train for easier movement after the ceremony.
