Watters Austin wedding dress. Ivory washed silk organza strapless soft folded ball gown, with self rouched belt and flower detail at waist.
This dress was worn once at my wedding in Vancouver, Canada on August 5, 2011. I purchased it at Bisou Bridal in Vancouver, in February 2011. It was special ordered from Watters and shipped to Bisou Bridal where it was professionally altered for me. This dress is absolutely amazing and I felt stunning in it. The ivory colour is gorgeous and adds to the movement and sparkle of the dress. It is very comfortable and light and would be great for any season. If I had a big enough closet I would keep this dress forever, it was absolutely perfect.
I have the original receipt from Bisou Bridal and the gown has the original Watters label and the original hanging strings etc. The dress is in pristine condition. My wedding ceremony and reception were all in one location and I got ready at that location so the dress was very lightly worn and as specified below, I had it professionally cleaned right after the wedding.

- DRESS ALTERATIONS
- The dress was altered from a size 8 to better fit my waist and hemmed slightly to work with my 2” heels (I’m 5”9). The major alteration that I made that I was SO happy with was removing the train. Although bustling the dress was possible, I looked at pictures of it bustled and thought it detracted from the shape of the dress. The dress has so much movement and flow already that a train seems to weigh it down and take away from that gorgeous shape and movement. I spent a lot of additional money altering the train ($300+), but I was delighted with the results and it was well worth the investment. The women who worked in the bridal store commented on how much they loved the dress without the train and as you can see from the pictures, I think it looks amazing without a train. If you are attached to having a train on your dress this is not the dress for you. However, if you like the gorgeous shape and how clean it looks without a train this could be the perfect dress for you. Happy to answer any questions or send more pictures of the dress.
- VEIL / HEADPIECE DESCRIPTION
- I wore a veil made by Bisou Bridal –it was very simple and worked really well (see pictures attached). The veil was $300, which seems expensive to me, but they gave me a deal so if you are interested I would be happy to throw in the veil.
- PRESERVATION METHOD
- The dress was professionally cleaned right after my wedding day by Executive Drycleaners in Vancouver, Canada. This company came highly recommended by the bridal store for their expertise cleaning wedding gowns. Cleaning cost was $257.
