The Venice top is the most lavish and stunning of any of the corsets that are designed by Monique Lhuillier. In addition to intricate re-embroidered French lace and beadwork, it is the only one she adorned with stephanotis flowers and gorgeous Swarovski crystals. If you have seen her collection and have an eye for detail, you would have noticed how much more embellished and elaborately decorated this elegant top is. The corset was ordered from Monique Lhuillier with a ½” raised neckline, at an additional cost, for a larger cup size and more modest coverage.
I chose to pair it with the Mystique skirt to complete this romantic look, which has a smoother texture and richer finish (Venice skirt was more subdued, matte finish, and slightly heavier) that I found to be more elegant. The Mystique skirt is a full A-line silk taffeta ballgown, which displays lifts/pick-ups distinctive to Monique Lhuillier that is light and flows beautifully. It was very easy to walk, dance, and sit comfortably while wearing this stunning ensemble.

The skirt is slightly crinkled, but has been professionally cleaned and pressed. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like more detailed photos.
- DRESS ALTERATIONS
- Both top and skirt were ordered in a size 2, which is the smallest size that Monique Lhuillier produces, and altered to fit my 32" bust (30DD bra size) and 23" waist. Instead of trimming any material, the zipper was taken in for corset and skirt so you can have both the top and skirt taken back out to original dimensions. The top is semi-sheer, but I felt comfortable just wearing "DIMRS" (which can be found at most lingerie stores). I also asked the seamstress to create a little more fringe (some more than others, top right on back is especially more frayed) on the petals of the flowers on the corset, to achieve a wispy look and provide more movement. The skirt has bustles added, so you can shorten the train after the ceremony if you wish. All original length/ material intact, with the exception of bottom (front only) of skirt (which I saved, and can send per your request). The front is the shortest part of skirt, which is 47" long. The only material cut was the bottom front of the skirt. No material was cut from the side to back of skirt. The manner of which the pick-ups/ lifts are positioned on this skirt (seamstress created pretty deep pockets when she repositioned the pick-ups/ lifts for me) allows for plenty of room for it to be adjusted in order to accommodate taller physiques (just by repositioning and draping the lifts to lower lengths). Since it’s an A-line skirt, it can accommodate most hips.
