This is a Jorge Perez designer gown. I purchased it at Macy's Bridal Salon in Chicago, IL. The dress fits exactly to size. I am a street size 10. It is very comfortable and has an inner corset that holds the dress up so there was no tugging or pulling. The fabric is an ivory silk taffeta and pretty lightweight. I wore the dress for my October 1, 2011 wedding and I was comfortable in it all night. I added the Lazaro belt which retails for $1300.00. It was sewn to the dress and the buttons were removed and replaced to make it appear to be part of the dress. It could be removed, but it really makes the dress. The dress has a slight train that I bustled after the ceremony. The dress was cleaned immediately after the ceremony. The bottom inner layer has some dirt marks that would not come out with cleaning. It is not noticeable but the bottom layer of ruffles could be removed especially for a shorter bride. I am 5'7'' and wore 3 1/2 in. heels.
- DRESS ALTERATIONS
- No alterations were needed. It was not hemmed or taken in or out in any way. The buttons were taken off and put back on to add the belt. The belt could be removed but it truly makes the dress. A bustle was added as there is a slight train and I didn't want it dragging or getting stepped on all night. It is very simple to bustle and is really fun to dance in once it's pulled up. Cups were tacked to save me from having to wear a bra, they too could easily be removed if not needed.
