OSCAR DE LA RENTA TULLE STRAPLESS GOWN WITH SATIN ORGANZA EMBROIDERY. This dress is by far the most beautiful dress I have ever seen and ever worn!
The first picture is of me in the actual dress for sale, the second is the vogue article, the third picture is the dress in an Oscar de la Renta advertisement (including a silk organza shrug), and the fourth picture is a collage of the actual dress for sale.
It was originally purchased by a bride in NY from Neiman Marcus for $9,000. I bought it for $5,600 (without it being cleaned ) and spent $980 on alterations (detalils are listed under "alterations"), and after the wedding I paid $165 to have it cleaned and pressed - it is now in EXCELLENT condition and looks brand new!
This Oscar de la Renta dress was featured in VOGUE's June 2011 edition, worn by VOGUE cover girl Maggie Rizer where the model said "I was freaking out, because I've already worn the most amazing dresses in the world . . . Now I'm trying to find any excuse to wear my dress again. Sometimes I cook in it just for fun."
This dress was also featured in CALIFORNIA'S LIFESTYLE MAGAZINE for Fall Weddings in 2011.

The dress is now at my parents house in San Diego. If you live close, you are more then welcome to set up a time to come over and try the dress on.
- DRESS ALTERATIONS
- When I purchased the dress it was in good condition but the silk organza border on the bodice was damaged, it was not cleaned, and the bustle was too heavy for the dress so there was a large tear. However, Neiman Marcus repaired it and you can only see it with a magnifying glass now. And my wonderful seamstress made a gorgeous bustle (that I received numerous compliments on) that held the weight of the skirt perfectly. A detailed alterations description, as given to me by my amazing seamstress, is as follows: The gown was resized from approximately a size 4 to a size 0 - taken in on each side, bust through waist. The gown features a silk organza bias trim which was replaced (as it was damaged) and the sweatheart neckline was slightly reshaped and lowered before reapplying the new trim. The bodice of the gown was shortened by 1" so that it sat fully on the waistline - the inside belt was resized and replaced on the waist. (the waist now measures 23 1/2" on the inside). Additional boning was added on the sides and the under the bust so there was no wrinkles in the shape and it fit snug to the frame. The skirt section was raised (to adjust the hemline) when reattached to the bodice - the front fall of the skirt now measures 44 1/2." The white (somewhat stiff and noisy) interior lining of the skirt was replaced with a softer off-white lining - thereby toning the skirt section to that of the bodice. The bustle is achieved with a series of satin covered buttons and hand made button loops. The dress has been cleaned and is in excellent condition.

- I wore a elbow length raw edge tulle blusher with the dress, but it is not for purchase.
