Uma, by Melissa Sweet, for Priscilla is a very flattering hour-glass figure dress. It was, and still is, the talk of her August 2011 wedding! The dress was fit on my daughter by the actual designer in the Boston showroom. He said he designed the dress (named for actress Uma Thurman) for someone - natural but free spirited! It is diamond white silk organza, with randomly scattered petal embellishment. The bride is 6 feet tall with shoes so there is plenty of length to work with! Contact me at IDOTOOMUCH@aol.com
- DRESS ALTERATIONS
- The ordered sz 8 gown was sized down on the top to fit more of a sz 6. The hip area is still more of a sz 8. During alterations done at Priscilla in Boston ( for $500) the bustle was added. Extra was paid ($300) for additional length to fit the 6 foot tall bride.
- VEIL / HEADPIECE DESCRIPTION
- The veil is being held back as a keepsake, but another similar veil could certainly be located & we have extra petals which could be attached to a long veil.
- PRESERVATION METHOD
- Not cleaned. There are no spots, but there is dirt on the underside of bottom hem. This does not show and would be removed if shortened. One back button has lost its rhinestone, & there is a small tear which could be repaired and hidden in the ruching.
