DRESS DETAILS: SIMPLY PERFECT!I knew this was my dress the moment I saw it. It's unique, sexy, fun and comfortable too! Ellie has a truly beautiful simplicity. The gorgeous Silk Taffeta appears to radiate a warm glow from within. The mermaid shaping is sexy but not over the top. I think the most special part of the dress is the pleating at the bust (repeated perfectly around the dress at the knee). It's really special, and to me, makes the dress. With an architectural feel, it adds a bit of edge to what I would call a Romantic Party Dress. It's gorgeous and chic. I love this dress!The back of the dress is beautiful and romantic with double, covered buttons on either side of a hidden zipper.
DRESS ALTERATIONS: My bridal salon "made" me order far too big to accommodate my bust measurement. Because of the intricate pleating at the bust, they didn't want to risk it being too small and losing some of the best part! The seamstress said I should have ordered a size 2. I ordered Extra-long, so I was good there. Basically, I was a bit chubbier than usual when I ordered and smaller than usual on my wedding day, the dress was altered to be much small from bust to knee. Bustle- one button, one loop for the reception. Damage- My photographer's assistant was "helping" to straighten my gown for photos, grabbed it by the pleated bust and released a 3-4 inch section of pleating. I cannot sew, yet to me it looks like a very simple, superficial, and straight-forward fix.
