Guipure lace bodice with ostrich feather A-line skirt from the Spring 2011 Oscar de la Renta bridal collection. The dress was a dream to wear and photographs fantastically well. I loved wearing this dress and had such fun with the feathers. Each cluster of feathers is hand-sewn; the craftsmanship is exquisite. Fewer than a dozen made, it is truly a work of art.
I am 5 feet 11 inches tall and wore a 2.5 inch heel. - DRESS ALTERATIONS
- Ribbons were added to the back inside seam so that the dress could be bustled for our first dance. I wore it with a beaded Oscar de la Renta sash; a similar sash is not hard to find if you like the idea. Two tiny loops were sewn to the sides to hold the sash in place; they are practically invisible but also easy to remove. I am busty so there some room to work with here if you are a smaller size.
