This is a gorgeous silk taffeta Vera Wang ball gown that I wore for 45 minutes on my wedding day in June 2010. I originally tried it on at a boutique where it retailed for over $8,000 and then was lucky enough to find a new sample for less than half the price. It is in great condition, and wears like a dream. The only tiny imperfections it had were some snags in the bodice, but they didnt bother me and were completely unnoticeable on the big day and in pictures. Well worth the savings in my opinion ;)
It has an asymmetrical sweetheart neckline, side zip ruched silk taffeta bodice with loops for a sash (not included) and 17 (!!) layers of silk tulle for the skirt.It truly is the most heavenly thing to wear, and if it didn't require it's own guest room in my parent's house, I would most definitely keep it. - I purchased this dress from Glamour Closet, a designer sample boutique in San Francisco. The dress is in great condition, th It was a size 8, but I had it professionally altered to by Margaret's La Jolla to fit me (according to the seamstress about a size 4 bridal). I am 5'5, and the dress was altered to accommodate my 4" heels. I am a 34B, and there are cups sewn in, but remove them and the dress could fit a much bustier person. I was about 120lbs in these pictures, but was a few lbs heavier when the alterations were done, so the dress was a little loose. I asked the seamstress ahead of time and she did say there was plenty of extra fabric to let the dress out in the future if needed. Also, since I wore this only for my ceremony, I did not have a bustle put in.
