Beautiful lace dress by Modern Trousseau! The lace is a daisy pattern vintage Chantilly lace. The French mill that designed the lace in the 60s does one of a kind laces and breaks their molds so they are truly exclusive to one designer. For some reason, the mill did not break this particular mold and the designer of Modern Trousseau (Callie Tien), fell in love with it. She convinced them to re-produce the lace for her. It is truly a vintage lace! The lace is an ivory color and the lining is a nice silk satin. They call the color Blush but it is more of a rich ivory than a pink or a peach. It has a built in crinoline also. The skirt features a scalloped ruffle trim and the bodice also features an eyelash lace trim. The hem is cut along the pattern creating a unique scallop. So many pretty details! I had this altered to become a 2 in 1 dress. The skirt is detachable and reveals a mini lace party dress! My dress and vow rewal was featured on Style Me Pretty! - DRESS ALTERATIONS
- This dress was a a size 10 but I had it let out a bit to fit more of a size 12 wedding gown (8-10 street). It has several princess seams which means it can be altered down to smaller sizes for a custom fit. The skirt attaches by hook and eyes covered by the ruffle trim. The white hooks on the mini dress blend in with the lace. The dress was also hemmed. I am 5ft 2 and wore about a 4-4.5" heel. So this would fit about a 5ft 6 gal in flats or more petite gals. I put a lot of $$ into the dress for my alterations and to make it two dresses in one, so that work is done for you! Or you could easily have the skirt re-attached permanently.
