I love my wedding dress but I am selling it as I will not wear it again and have nowhere to store it. It is a Priscilla of Boston trumpet style ivory dress. [Random note to fellow petite girls out there:I had initially been attracted to trumpet style dresses, and after trying on several dresses with fuller skirts just to see what they would look like, I realized that the trumpet style was the best fit for my petite frame to avoid looking overwhelmed by the dress.] The dress is strapless and I altered the neckline to be a sweetheart neckline, with lace scalloped edging, which I am so glad I did. The dress is silk and there is lace detail on the top and the bottom of the dress with scalloped edges. The the way the lace contrasts on top of the silk is simply beautiful. The scalloped edging on the bottom is gorgeous. There are very subtle small pearls and beads scattered throughout the lace. There are traditional wedding dress buttons down the back of the dress (although there is a hidden zipper making getting dressed super easy as no buttoning is necessary). The train is full but NOT chapel length.
The dress is simply gorgeous and I can't tell you how much people went on and on about it. Even several male guests told me that they normally wouldn't comment on things like wedding dresses but that they really thought mine was the nicest they had seen.
The dress is a sample dress, original retail price $5,125.00, purchased by me as a sample dress for $2,100.00, plus 9.75% tax, so the total was $2,300.00. I have the original tag.
- DRESS ALTERATIONS
- The dress was a wedding gown size 8 sample dress. I wear a street size 0-2 and the dress was altered to fit my body. I am 5'1.75" (that's 5'1" and 3/4...almost 5'2") and I wore shoes with a 2.5 inch heal. As noted above, I also have the neckline altered from a straight across strapless to a sweetheart neckline with lace scalloped edging. The dress also has a bustle.
