I believe Amelia is from Vera Wang's 2009 fall collection. This is a gorgeous dress and it is incredibly flattering. I felt amazing in it -- and this is coming from somebody who was dreading the whole wedding dress thing. It emphasizes the waist, while it slims the hips and any junk in the trunk. The bodice is wrapped and tight, and then the dress flares into a flowing bottom half with tulle flowers peeping out. It is hard to do it justice in words but hopefully the pictures show what a stunning and unique dress this is. I bought this in 2010 from the Vera Wang store on Melrose in West Hollywood, CA. It has been cleaned and preserved professionally. I hope somebody else can get as much joy out of wearing this dress as I did!
- DRESS ALTERATIONS
- The dress was altered at the Vera Wang store. It originally came with a large crystal corsage on the right hip, but it was too much bling for me. I had it removed and had that area altered so it didn't stick out. I also had the bust, waist and hips taken in because I lost some weight after I ordered it. The bust was altered a bit to show more cleavage. :) It is in between a sweetheart and straight neckline. The gown has a train and the seamstress added in a french bustle.
- VEIL / HEADPIECE DESCRIPTION
- The veil is included if you want. It is a matching Vera Wang ivory veil that is fingertip length and has subtle silk lining. It is also beautiful and I got a ton of compliments.
- PRESERVATION METHOD
- I had it cleaned and preserved by J Scheer, who were recommended by the Vera Wang store. The dress should look brand spanking new!
