Beautiful strapless gown in ivory geneve satin. It's an excellent cross between a modern and classic look. The neckline is amazing -- no boob / armpit fat problem at ALL -- originally I didn't want to wear strapless until I tried this one on. The corset underneath is sweetheart, with fabric over it that looks like a straight across top, with awesome detailing. Asymmetrical pleating all along the bodice to the hip, and then it just drapes down into a pretty big skirt with a wonderful train (cathedral length). The back has satin covered buttons (functional) over a zipper. The train has these amazing accordion pleats, which bustle so well for the reception afterwards.
The dress photographed beautifully, and I got so many compliments. Honestly it made me LOOK hourglass when I am shaped like a rectangle. Awesome! I wore it for my 10/16/10 wedding. For trying-on purposes, I live in the LA area, but am moving to the Boston area this summer.
- DRESS ALTERATIONS
- It was taken in around the bust / waist. I bought a 12 but am a 8 size in regular clothes, so I was between the 10 and 12 sizes in the dress. It was not hemmed AT ALL so if you're taller like me and have pretty much given up on getting a used dress (like I did!) this is perfect! And, of course, if you need to get it hemmed that works too.
- VEIL / HEADPIECE DESCRIPTION
- I have a cathedral-length veil with a ribbon trim (ivory) that I will happily include if you want it! (And gorgeous Kate Spade white shoes, too, but I wear a size 11 so that's probably a long shot.)
- PRESERVATION METHOD
- I haven't gotten it cleaned yet because I thought you would prefer to do it rather than have me include it in the cost. I know I would want to get my dress cleaned and pressed myself to make sure it's perfect!
