The dress is made from shantung taffeta. The material feels very light and is not shiny. The dress feels full even without a petticoat (which I opted out of). It has pockets which are very chic and also practical. They came in very handy during my wedding ceremony when I needed a tissue to dab my eyes! I am 5'8". I wore flats on my wedding day. I don't know exactly how long the dress is but I'm guessing it's around 55 inches. Also, it has a sweep train. The dress is in a pristine condition with no stains, rips or snags. It is just like new.
- DRESS ALTERATIONS
- The dress does have a bustle. The image of the bustle isn't the best because I am leaning forward into a hug, but I think it gives you the idea! The hem was brought up a couple inches. I also had alterations add a thin ivory halter strap. This can easily be removed or shortened. It worked wonderfully as support and I didn't have to get the bust altered. The bow on the waist line has a broach that is a circle of "diamonds" (glass). I took mine off and used one of my grandmother's broaches. I do have the original broach which will be very easy to sew back on should you choose to use it.
