I am selling my Lela Rose "The Stables" wedding gown. It originally retailed for around $5,500 but I purchased it as a sample in December 2009. It was worn at my September 2010 wedding. It was part of the designer's Spring 2008 line. It is such a classic wedding gown, with a few twists. It is made of beautiful cotton embroidered lace over a silky/satiny slip. The pattern of the lace is very unique. The gown has a classic sweetheart neckline with a thin satin sash under the bust. It is fitted through the body and flares out toward the hem. It comes with a little satin sash, but would like great with a thicker sash of a contrasting color tied around the waist. The edge of the dress has some embroidery that is a bit frayed after being cleaned, but it is hardly noticeable when worn.
I would prefer to sell the dress to someone local who can come and try it on first.
- DRESS ALTERATIONS
- The dress was hemmed and the extra fabric was cut. I am 5'4" or so and wore sandals, so the dress would only work for someone 5'5" or shorter with shoes. Also, I had the dress taken out at the hips. It was pretty expensive and difficult to do on this material (alterations totaled $480), so if this works for your shape, that's an added bonus. A simple bustle was created by tying two ribbons together inside the gown - one of these ribbons ripped so will need to be re-sewn.
