Ivory silk satin organza bridal gown with embroidered tulle overlay, crystal beaded empire bodice and hemline with cascading flowers at back, chapel train hemmed with crystal beading to match bodice. This dress was very light and easy to dance in. It is a perfect combination of sweet and glamorous - I've never seen another one like it! I purchased it new from Victorian Rose in Raleigh, NC.
Not surprisingly, I have lots more pictures of my dress, including several I took of details before I had it cleaned/preserved. If you are interested in the dress and would like to see more pictures, please let me know which shots you would like and I will email them to you.
- DRESS ALTERATIONS
- Sewn in cups (so no bra required!) along with an elastic band which allows the dress to accommodate someone a size larger or smaller than me (I wear a size 4). Dress has been shortened by hand and a 5-point bustle has been added which is hidden in the flowers. This totaled approximately $500 in alterations. Please note the ribbon separated slightly at the bottom of the bodice and you will need to get a seamstress to fix this (see picture, taken prior to cleaning).
- VEIL / HEADPIECE DESCRIPTION
- Color matches the dress perfectly. It is 2 layers and has tiny crystals sewn in throughout. It came to about my hips for length - you can see it in one of the pictures. It cost $500 new, purchased from New York Bride in Charlotte, NC. Will sell for an additional $200.
- PRESERVATION METHOD
- Both the dress and veil have been professionally cleaned and are in a box. Because it is in a box, it will need to be steamed before wearing.
