My name is Carlynne Pearl Cutler, and I am a designer who specializes in Bridal and special occasion gowns. Currently I am interning at Oscar De La Renta. During my time studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology I designed, draped and made the featured wedding gown. My inspiration for this gown was the use of sleek and simplistic architectural structure enhanced by the soft movement in fabric. I achieved the design by creating a drop waist mermaid princess gown. The featured structure is a pleated bodice crumb catcher, embellished with fresh water pearls and genuine Swarovski crystals. The gown falls into a double tiered skirt layered with soft tulle creating the effect of the foam created by the rapid falling of water. The fabrication of the gown is pink confection 100% silk satin. The gown is corseted with a lace-up back which flatters most figures. Price $2600 Size 10 A side note, Because this gown was made in one of my design classes we constructed the gown according to our professor’s guidelines. The hem is encased with industry finishing and turned up then finished at the waist. Since there is a lace-up back with grommets I cannot get into the dress for major alterations, doing so would ruin the fabric. So size ten is the size the dress must remain. However, because it is corseted the gown can fit a variety of size tens. I can also make a filler piece for the back lace-up if needed, for no extra charge.
