Dress Description:

Amy Kuschel Rose
This couture dress is purely classic, elegant, and affordable! I wanted a more simple dress for our outdoor wedding to pair with my mother’s silk tulle mantilla veil. The veil has lots of intricate lace detailing so I didn’t want too much on the dress to compete. The look was so beautiful. This dress can really be dressed up with a veil and accessories, or stands beautifully on its own for a more understated “destination” look. I am not selling the veil.
The dress has a strapless modified A-line silhouette with a delicate sweetheart neckline. It is made from matte sheer silk organza and is 100% silk lined on the inside. Not only does this dress look beautiful on the outside, it feels amazing on your skin. What a treat on your wedding day! It is also lightweight and easy/comfortable to move around in. There is satin piping below the bust and along the 3 tiered layers at the hem. The back of the dress dips just below where the lower edge of your bra strap would fall. A little lower than “normal” but not a striking plunge. The sweep train was perfect for our outdoor wedding. Just long enough to feel like a wedding gown, but not too long to get in the way while walking outside.
The seamstress added a great looking French Bustle. The bustle tucks the dress up behind the bend at the knees while still showcasing the satin piping along the hem. The bustle was very secure and is easy to fasten. The seamstress numbered each of the 5 pairs of ties (so tie #1 ties with the other #1, etc.). I had bra cups tacked into the dress so I didn’t need to buy/wear a bra; however, there are only 3 stitches holding each cup in place so very easy to remove if you don’t want them.
Amy Kuschel no longer highlights the Rose dress on her Web site; however, she still makes the dress upon request. The style is the same as the “Phoebe” dress on her site, just without any of the beading or embroidered appliqué. For details see Amy Kuschel’s site:

Condition: I had the dress professionally cleaned and pressed by Sonny at Gold Label Cleaners in Denver, CO. Sonny is hands down the best area cleaner & preserver of natural fabric wedding gowns and came to me highly recommended from several sources. The dress is in impeccable condition with only one small light stain on the inside lining of the train that cannot be seen when worn. The stain is a light brown/reddish color from the sandstone at my outdoor wedding site.
Color: The dress is Antique White which is a light ivory color. A very nice balance between stark white and a full ivory.
Sizing:
Measurements at the time the dress was ordered: Bust = 33, Waist = 26.5, Over bust = 32.5, Ribcage = 28.5, Hip high = 31, Hip low = 39, Hollow to waist = 12, Nape to waist = 14.5.
Dress Size Ordered: I paid extra to order a split size – I ordered a size 6 on top and a size 10 on bottom (those dang hips!)
Alterations: I lost about 5 lbs. before the wedding (not sure what that translated into in terms of my measurements). I had the dress hemmed, and taken in a little on the sides of the bust and taken in a bit more at the hip. The alterations were done by the in-house seamstress at the bridal salon where I bought the gown and cost $434 (that triple layer hem with satin trim killed me on alterations).
Pricing:
I am the original owner of the dress. I purchased in March 2006 from Felice´ Bridal Salon in Denver, CO for $2,055. I have all receipts of sale and alterations if you’d like to review them. The dress was worn only once on my wedding day (10/7/06) and was professionally cleaned and pressed soon thereafter. I am asking $650 for the dress and can take payment via PayPal or Cashiers Check. I just hope this dress can help make some other woman feel as beautiful and elegant on her wedding day as I did on mine.
