The gown is a Mikaella style #1302. It was worn for a summer 2009 wedding. It is a strapless, Chantilly lace, a-line gown with a sweep train. It has a romantic feel and is very flowy. It has a beautiful taffeta ruched band at the waist with delicate flowers on the side as well as a scalloped hem. The color is champagne but looks more like a deep ivory.
- DRESS ALTERATIONS
- Alterations were made to the length. I'm 4’11” and wore 4” heels, the hem hit perfectly to the floor. This dress is perfect for the petite bride 5’3” or under! Cups were also added to the bust area. The bust and waist area fit like a glove and can be easily taken in if needed. A double French bustle was added to the gown and ribbon ties for the bustle are color coded, however, I am not certain if they are all intact since preserving the gown. It can be easily bustled by a professional seamstress if needed. Please email me for more detailed photos or if you have any questions.
- VEIL / HEADPIECE DESCRIPTION
- Simple plastic comb with 2-tier ivory veil (end of veil is unfinished).
- PRESERVATION METHOD
- Professionally dry cleaned, pressed, and legacy preserved by Margaret’s Cleaner's in La Jolla, CA ($400 value). The metal hooks and buttons were removed when cleaned and will need to be re-attached to the gown. Gown was preserved in October 2009.
