Dress Details

This wedding dress is by Italian Haut Couture designer Cailan’d. I purchased it in Italy for my June 2007 wedding and it is entirely made in Italy. Its graceful empire cut is made of a lightweight, sheer, ivory silk chiffon over tulle that provides a soft finish for a floaty look (it really makes you feel as if you were walking on a cloud!). The bust is enriched by soft rouching that also accents the small, feminine sleeves. The dress was not altered, only the spaghetti straps were added, and the fact that it has no bustle (which could be easily added by a good seamstress), didn’t stop me from dancing a beautiful tango in it. The most original detail of the dress is its unique hem, higher on the front, which allows you to show off your ankles and shoes, and longer on the back ending in a flattering court train (length from the neckline to front hem is 35.5”). It is very comfortable and best of all it does not wrinkle. At the end of my wedding it was as fresh and neat as the first moment I put it on. This dress is perfect for a petite woman. I don’t sell the veil because I would like to keep it in memory of my wedding, but any lace veil would go with it. The dress was professionally dry cleaned and stuffed after the wedding and is spotless. It is now in its original garment bag and will ship from Italy.
