Dress Description:
Brand new, size 6 ivory silk taffeta gown. This gown has been tried on only once in the bridal store and is in perfect condition. No alterations but some customization. I paid $450 to change the fabric from taffeta to silk taffeta and to remove beading from the dress bodice. These customization costs are reflected in the selling price, but I feel the changes only make the gown more luxurious and elegant. Measurements are listed below. I wear a size 0-2 in street clothes, and this gown was slightly big in the waist and hips. Dress length is approximately 58 1/2 inches, and in the pictures I was 5'3" with 2" heels. The gown is an elegant, slim A-line, V-neck gown, very similar to the Pronovias Diamante and the Mikaella 1367. It a popular style very flattering to many figures. I am selling this dress because I am a two dress bride! Although the dress is simply classy on its own, I'm pretty certain you can alter the dress to your liking. Some changes my seamstress said were possible include: creating a dipped back, thickening the straps, turning the V-neck into a vintage-looking sweetheart neckline, dropping the waist to make the silhouette more like a mermaid or trumpet, adding extra crinoline to the bottom to make the gown a fuller A-line, or adding a beautiful beaded sash. The gown was purchased February 2009, arrived in June 2009, and was picked up in July 2009. It is safely stored in a house free of pets, children, and cigarette smoke.
