The trick to finding your perfect wedding dress is to find a design that expresses your personal style, matches the tone of your wedding and really flatters your shape. All of these things come together when you find “THE Dress.”

Finding the style that is perfect for you means you get to browse through stacks of wedding magazines and websites and to see what catches your eye. (This is also one of the most fun jobs of the newly engaged)!  And finding the style that flatters your shape means understanding what silhouettes, necklines and waistlines work best on your body.

Find your shape by entering your measurements in our shape calculator and then see our style tips and dresses that match.

If your body is a pear (and you body is thinner on top with more curves/fullness on the bottom half), then your style tips are:

  1. Create balance for your shape by putting the attention on your upper half.  Draw attention upwards with  one shoulder, strapless, v-neck, bateau or scoop necklines.
  2. Reduce attention your bottom half with ballgown or A-line silhouettes. These silhouettes are fabulous and forgiving for pears.
  3. Skip: Sheaths (because they are too clingy for your shape), Mermaids & Trumpets ( they put attention on the wrong half of your body), Halters & High Necklines (because they can create a disproportionate look).

And if you have a pear shaped figure, here are just a few of the gowns that will look amazing on you.
