Well, we’re down to one week….
I suppose the possibilities for what I could write this week’s blog on were nearly endless – I mean at this point I’ve basically been through the entire pre-wedding process.

Sam, the owner of DFH really came through for us. The brewing community is really amazing!
I thought about discussing what I’ve done in the last week – calling to double check with the approximately 60 people who chose not to send back response cards (most of whom were evidently just planning on showing up), planning seating charts (a process that took no less than 10 hours – that’s being generous), confirming details with every person who is involved in the wedding (bridal party, family, pastor, photographer, baker, reception site, transportation, musician, DJ, seamstress…you get the idea), getting our marriage license (on which I signed Nikole Colin instead of Nikole Current last name, how embarrassing!), confirming alcohol (Sam Calagione, owner of Dogfish Head scored us a keg of Punkin Ale for the wedding since no one in our area could get it in) creating programs, escort cards, menus, table numbers, monograms, checking and double checking the spelling of everyone’s names – yeah, like I said, nearly endless; but I realized that this was just going to be your everyday, average, run of the mill blog if I did that, so that was out.
Next I thought about telling you about all of the wonderful vendors that I’ve worked with like WhiteFlash where we got my ring (LOVE THEM – will buy all of my jewelry from there from here on out – if you want details – comment and I’ll share), my photographer who has been super accommodating and sweet, Plankenhorn’s Stationary who has made all of my stationary nightmares seem like nothing at all, Chris at First Impression Bridal, who has been awesome with getting all of our apparel in, on time, and correctly – but I didn’t want it to sound like I was just advertising for them.
I also thought about doing a thank you blog – not just to all of the people who have helped make this wedding come into fruition – Colin, my wonderful bridal party, our families, especially my parents who are, “sponsoring,” the event – but also Josie – the owner of pre-owned wedding dresses and all of you readers for helping keep me sane with your comments and allowing me to express my joy and frustration. It was great to have this outlet. But you all know that already.

My Best Friend! (Just realized Colin's wearing a DFH hat! Also - I'm a Red Sox fan - but we were at an Orioles game so I had to represent)
But, what I finally decided on, after writing basically an entire blog of ideas for a blog, was to write about how I feel with one week to go…
I feel stressed and burnt out from a year of planning an event that will last about six hours. I feel irritated and annoyed that the day has become so much about everyone except Colin and I. I feel worried and anxious that something will not go right. And somewhere, deep down inside I feel very very lucky to be marrying my best friend. My goal for this next week is to just enjoy that emotion and concentrate on how fortunate I am to be marrying such a wonderful, caring, selfless man who will share life’s adventures with me!
Yours,
The Bride
Relax and enjoy! Everything will be wonderful! Can’t wait to see pictures.
