What’s new, right? I can’t make up my mind on these dresses for the life of me! Well, you know what? I finally made a decision, just tonight. Yes. It’s true.
So, Jarrod’s mom has been sending me all these fabric swatches, trying to help speed along the decision-making process. I’ve just kind of been non-committal on anything and avoiding the whole situation because I’m done with it! Although, I can’t really be done with it, because I’ve kinda got a wedding happening in less than 100 days.
Last night I took another look at the fabric swatches (fuzzy-ish picture above) and decided that maybe that light lavender polka-dot fabric might just be what I’ve been looking for this whole time. Here’s a better picture of it (It’s the fabric swatch with the red earring resting on top of it).
I was initially not so sure about the polka-dots, because I don’t want this whole thing to come across as juvenile, but I think it’ll look good. The fabric is so light that the dots fade into the lavender from far away, so it won’t scream “POLKA-DOT BRIDESMAIDS!!!” I’m happy with my decision, and now I can move on to pestering my girls to choose patterns and give me their measurements!
Now onto the guys. Jarrod’s mom bought his brother/best man, Quinton, one of the $100 suits that I’ve referenced before, so that we could kind of see the color and quality of the suits before we bought them, and also see if they fit pretty true to size. The package finally arrived at work yesterday (in a huge, embarrassing box–they make fun of me at work because I get packages every week!). I’m no suit guru, but it seems like the suit is nice…It’s not the same color as Jarrod’s, as you can see from the picture on the right–it’s a little bit of a darker grey, while Jarrod’s suit has a subtle brown herringbone design.
I think this will be a good deal though! I’m sending it off to Indiana tomorrow so that Quinton can try it on. Woo.
As for other things…hmm…I realized a few days ago that my invitations really need to be printed this month, because they’re going to need to go out come April! Scary, very scary. And yet, soo exciting!
Jarrod and I spent all of Saturday and Sunday planning the honeymoon itinerary post-Greece and booking all the airfare and hotel rooms. We’re going to be backpacking around Europe, and found this pretty sweet website, www.ryanair.com, that sells cheap flights from major cities in Europe. So we’re going pretty random here–Rome, Madrid, Oslo, Dublin, Bratislava, and Vienna. It’s going to be super fun…and I’m super excited.
Anyway, my goal for this week is to try and get started with the girls’ dresses. We’ll see how that goes. I’ll be sure to keep you all posted!
Ryanair can be great but be careful with them. They offer really cheap flights but if they cancel your flight for some reason they do not have to give you another flight instead. It’s in their terms and conditions, I’ve been caught with it before (stuck in Italy with a hefty hotel bill and new flight costs, both of which they refused to cover when they cancelled a flight because of a fault with their own plane)
That said, they are cheap and handy, but just make sure you have excellent travel insurance because they are notorious for definitely not putting the customer first.
Also their airports can be quite a distance from the city centre. Their “Paris” airport is 55 miles from Paris. You wont get cheaper flights around Europe but I’d double check the distance from their airport to your destination/other airports nearby.
