Hair!

So I decided how I want to have my hair for my wedding! Don’t you just love the look on the left? The drama, the passion, the boldness…

Ugh, just kidding! It’s like, come on people–you’re supposed to be a bridal magazine, for cryin’ out loud! Give us some styles we can work with.

In all seriousness, I’m still trying to figure out what I’m going to do with my hair. I mean, I do have a bunch of time to decide (yikes–tomorrow is the 100-day mark!), but it’s good to start thinking about this stuff, right?

The really annoying thing is that there are NO good hairstyle websites out there, period. Well, the Brides.com one is pretty good; at least, it’s the best one I’ve found so far. But type something like “wedding hairstyles” into Google and (after the Brides.com and Knot links) you get “weddinghairstylesden.com”, a pretty terribly-designed website with horribly-outdated and/or scary pictures such as the one to the right.

Anyway, I’m not here to criticize. I just want my hair to look nice for my wedding day! Freshman year of college I used to have super long hair, but then I decided to chop it. Since then, I’ve been trying to grow it back to the length that it was in its former glory, and I’m pretty much there…after five years! So my hair is long…and straight. I’m not a huge fan of tight updos, so I’m leaning toward a looser, half-up style with the part that’s down kind of wavy. If that’s possible. My hair couldn’t hold a curl if its life depended on it, except, strangely, when it’s sprayed to death in a salon. I’m crossing my fingers that June 5th, 2010 isn’t a humid day in South Bend, Indiana. At least it’s not August!

Anyway, I probably won’t know for sure until May…or maybe even the wedding day! They say to have a test run done, so I’m for sure going to be doing that as soon as I move my little self back to Indiana.

As for the rest of the wedding planning, things are going well! My mom called me in a panic yesterday, wondering if I had accounted for the extra postage it takes to send letters to Canada. I had :) . But apparently one of my Canadian-bound save-the-dates got sent back because the post office couldn’t decipher it or something. Apparently the zip code goes on a separate line. The life of a bride-to-be!

Jarrod’s mom looked into the $100 suit thing. www.iswmenswear.com is the web address, but it’s not completely up and running yet. Jarrod’s mom ordered a suit for his brother so we could see the quality, color, etc, and apparently she spoke with like, the owner of the place, who said that the site is going to be launched in 60 days, allowing customers to order online and everything. It seems like a really great deal, so we’ll see!

Apart from that, not much else is going on in the Life of Emily. I’m trying to file my taxes, and keep wishing that it were summer!
