Dresses and Suits

wrapI think I’ve found the solution to my bridesmaid AND my groomsman woes, all in one short (short, short…) week!

I’ve always been a fan of those wrap dresses that can be worn several different ways. Back when I made my little “Wedding Ideas Book”, I even enclosed a clipping from a magazine with this dress from Twobirds Bridesmaid. Unfortunately, the dress is super expensive, so I pretty much ruled it out immediately.

But then Etsy came along! Does anyone else love Etsy as much as I do? I mean, you can just find the cutest little everythings that you need or don’t need.

I randomly searched Etsy for wrap dresses one night and found these dresses from the seller Lirola. They’re not nearly as, ahem, risque as the Twobirds dresses, and they’re much more reasonably priced. The only downside is that there is no lavender, per se, but the rosy sand color looks close to what I need, so I think that if I do end up going with them, it will be fine. But I’ll order a swatch, just in case!

Anyway, I’m so in love with these dresses that I’m probably going to end up getting one for myself and wear it on our honeymoon! :)

And then the groomsmen’s suits! Jarrod’s mom was in Texas this week visiting her parents and I guess she saw a sign for $100 tuxes, stopped in, and got the scoop on a deal? Anyway, it seems that we can purchase a grey suit, shirt, and tie for $100, which is a SICK DEAL! I mean, I haven’t seen the suits, so I don’t know if they’re majorly flawed or what, but, as Kelly says, even if they only wear them one time and throw them out, it’s still a better deal than a tux rental. Now all I need to do, or all I need to get Jarrod to do, is e-mail the guys and get their suit sizes. Hmm…

The rest of planning is going pretty well. I sent out the save-the-dates today, and while I would have liked to put those really cute king and queen of hearts stamps that are out now on the envelopes, when I went to the post office at lunch yesterday, they were all out. I didn’t feel like wasting another lunch to go to the post office again, so I just bought the flag stamps. Whatever.

Time is closing in, faster and faster it seems! Jarrod and I need to work on our registry some more, especially now that the save-the-dates have gone out for real, but we just don’t have the time! I mean, I guess if we took the time, instead of going skiing every weekend. Wait. I think I’ve already brought this situation up!

Well, we’ll see what this next week brings. Hopefully only good news. And I might talk about wedding hair next week, because I’ve been thinking about it recently.
