My (Roughly) Completed Stationary Set

Okay, maybe I’m beating a dead horse here, but this is another stationary post! I finally cracked down and designed the rest of everything, so take a look at the completed package:

First is the save the date, the guests’ first look at the overall feel of the wedding. I spent four stinkin’ hours working on this thing! I’m actually kind of proud of it. The bird and heart motif is going to be repeated a lot in the wedding, I think. Or at least in the stationary!savethedate copy

Second is the actual invitation (which is the first piece of the set that I designed). I’ve shown this on here before. Jarrod thought the red was too harsh, so I switched the color to a darker purple. I thought it might look nice on a light lavender card stock, but I decided instead to mail the invitations in a lavender envelope addressed in red. Cool!invite copy

Third is the all-inclusive program. This thing is going to be a beast! We’re talking wedding program, song sheets, crossword puzzle, tea menu, all that fun stuff. It’s the guide to the day!program copy I’m not sure about this one…I’m still tweaking some stuff, but overall, I’m pleased, I think! (If it looks funny, it’s because it will be folded in half, so the Emily + Jarrod will go on the front, and the bird will be on the back.)

Finally, we come to the thank you card. Again, not sure about this one. The last two I just sort of threw together last night, and I think that they’re okay, but I’m just afraid that everything is just too similar. Well, who knows.thankyou copy

Anyway, I decided this week to forgo the printshop and print my invitations and program at home (I think I’m going to use Vistaprint.com for the postcard-sized save the date and thank you cards). So, I bought a nice printer (surprisingly not that expensive) and blank invitation cards at Staples. Unfortunately, my brand spankin’ new printer doesn’t want to print half-letter-sized sheets. So…I’m sort of in trouble. I’m considering exchanging the printer, but I’m not entirely sure. I could just get a refund for the dang thing and print my invitations at Staples. Am I the cheapest bride in the world? Well, it’s okay. I’m satisfied with the way my invitations look, so what more can I ask for?

Anyway, so that’s what I have so far. Criticism welcomed!

at first I was like wow its so busy. But you know what its so different and I think looking at the premade ones all freaking week you’ve changed my mind. I love it it unique and really cool. Great job! What printer did you use?

Love it, and I love that you’re going with something different and fun! And I love the idea of the lavender envelope addressed in red, to bring the red back in. The only thing I’m wondering is if you should put the address for the Oliver Gardens? Unless everyone’s from the area or you are including directions, it could be confusing. Oh– and I love the little bird! So cute. :)

Super cute… can I ask what you used to design this? I am a complete novice, but I love the idea of designing our own stationary.

Thank you! I designed the stationary on Adobe Illustrator (I majored in graphic design in college, so I had the software on my laptop). I’m going to include a little square of paper in the invitations with the address, map, etc.
